UNY National Grid: Incentive Update 2020
As many of you are aware, utility companies like National Grid offer rebates to commercial customers who complete specific energy efficiency upgrades. As efficiency measures evolve, funding for these programs change. We are a Project Expeditor with National Grid and have been informed of a change to the LED lighting rebate offered. In this week’s blog, we will cover the recent changes National Grid made to their program.
Starting on May 1st, we anticipate a 10-15% drop in incentive offered for certain LED lighting upgrades. This change is no surprise to us. As energy efficiency becomes more affordable and facilities continue to upgrade, the programs created to change behavior won‘t be as necessary. Integra LED has completed hundreds of LED Lighting upgrades while helping our customers take advantage of all incentives available to them. We have seen various changes in incentive programs over the years. We expect to see more changes in the rebate programs in the future. Some incentives will go down while others will go up depending on the technology and the intent to make these technologies more mainstream. On a national basis, we are seeing more incentive going towards networked control technologies for LED lighting systems.
What Does This Mean For You?
Reach out to your Integra LED sales rep immediately to discuss locking in the current rebates before they change. Integra LED is a Project Expediter for National Grid which enables us to quickly get incentive applications submitted and approved. Furthermore, our dedicated team will ensure you get the maximum amount of incentive possible for your upgrade. As stated above, incentives will only change as time goes on so we highly recommend completing your upgrade before this next reduction.
