Top Commercial LED Lighting Applications
Interested in learning how your company can harness the savings of LED lighting?
Over the past few years, Integra LED has worked with numerous commercial facilities ranging from metal fabricators to office spaces. During this time, we have found the most common LED lighting applications for commercial locations which we summarized below.
2×4 Fluorescent Troffer -> 2×4 LED Flat Panel
2×4 fluorescent troffers come in several shapes and styles but usually are fitted with T8 tubes. To the right is a common example of a fluorescent troffer next to an LED panel you would see in a commercial space. These troffers are commonly replaced with LED flat panels or center basket troffer which are more efficient and offer a sleeker look. A typical 2×4 fluorescent troffer is fitted with either 2, 3 or 4 T8’s that generally use 32W each. Therefore, the fixture on average will use 96W whereas an LED Flat Panel such as the RAB EZPAN only uses 30W reducing your energy usage by about 70%. Overall, LED flat panels and center basket troffers are the bread and butter for LED lighting upgrades as they offer great savings while greatly enhancing the appearance of your facility.
HID High Bay -> LED High Bay
HID or High-Intensity Discharge lamps come in several varieties including sodium vapor, mercury vapor or metal halide lamps. High bays are commonly illuminated using metal halide lamps. These are easily replaced with an LED high bay that significantly reduces energy consumption and increases the lifetime of your lighting. High bays are commonly utilized in manufacturing and warehouse spaces so if a fixture goes out, it requires maintenance to get a lift and can disrupt operations which costs the company money. The most common HID application is a 400W metal halide which we replace with a 125W LED high bay reducing your energy usage by about 70%.
CFL Can -> LED Can Kit
Recessed or surface mounted can lights are illuminated with screw-in or pin compact fluorescent bulbs. We commonly see these in professional buildings such as medical or business offices. Instead of replacing the bulb, our team will replace the entire fixture using an LED can kit. The most common upgrade we complete is a can with 2 26W CFL’s using a total of 52W to a 13W LED can kit. This replacement will save you 75% on energy use per replacement!
HID Wall Pack -> LED Wall Pack
Like high bays, wall packs are illuminated using HID lamps but are installed on the exterior walls of buildings to provide light for pedestrians and make the space more secure. Wall packs are commonly illuminated with metal halides or sodium vapors that produce a distinct deep yellow color temperature. We commonly replace 205W HID wall packs with a 51W LED wall pack reducing your energy usage by 75%.
