MCD Metals, a state-of-the-art ductwork fabricator for HVAC systems in the Capital District was interested in upgrading to LED lighting from metal halides in their manufacturing space. Metal halide lamps have the longest warm-up period of any lighting option and are significantly less efficient than LEDs. The first step for MCD was receiving their complimentary energy audit from Integra LED that helps them get a better picture of their current energy cost and where there was an opportunity for savings. Once the audit was completed, Integra delivered a short yet detailed proposal highlighting the impressive results upgrading to LED would produce. The proposed project will generate $98,254 in lifetime savings for the company over the next 10 years!
Local utility companies offer incentives to reduce the cost of the projects for eligible businesses. Integra worked with MCD’s utility company to reduce the cost of their project by 38% making it significantly more affordable.
Manufacturing heavily relies on the productivity of employees to ensure orders meet their deadlines and no bottlenecks occur. LED lighting has been shown to increase productivity by 4.5% which can make a large impact on companies such as MCD Metals. After the installation was completed, Integra met with several employees at MCD who shared their excitement with the recent upgrade. If your employees are more comfortable and happier, productivity is bound to increase!
